The Squirrels fell to the Piranhas in the Finals on Thursday, this time 4-2, after a couple of bad breaks. The Squirrels took a 1-0 lead, then in the course of eight seconds in the final minute of the first, gave up two goals. The Squirrels, however, scored with just two seconds remaining in the first period to tie it up. In the second period, the Squirrels were on the verge of retaking the lead, missed by inches, only for the Piranhas’ ringer (four points) to rush the length of the ice and score unassisted. They added another goal in the third.
The Squirrels are now gearing up for the winter season in a few weeks.
