Squirrels 6, Laughing Skulls 5 (SO)

With only eight skaters on the Olympic rink, the Squirrels had their work cut out for them Wednesday. Up 3-0 in the first period, the Squirrels began to slow down a bit, as the Laughing Skulls marched back to tie the game at three. The Squirrels re-took the lead in the third and then gave up two goals down the stretch.

With less than two minutes remaining, the Squirrels tied the game, then took a penalty, then another, but held on for the tie. In the shootout, backup goaltender Herman Johal made a spectacular save in the first round, then two more to help the Squirrels win. Charles Warner, meanwhile, led the Squirrels with four goals and an assist, plus the lone shootout goal. Mark Tessar had the other goal.
