The Squirrels took sole possession of first place Tuesday with a 7-6 win against the Jesters in yet another high-scoring affair.
After a back-and-forth first period, the Jesters went up 5-3 early in the second period before the Squirrels scored four straight on the Jesters’ goalie, Ed Owen. The Squirrels took a 2-goal lead late into the game before the Jesters scored with about a minute remaining, but the Squirrels held on.
Casey Carpenter and Vivek Pinto each scored twice, with Tyler Patty, Arie Stock and Greg Hainer adding one each.
