The Squirrels handed the Brewins their first loss of the season Thursday, scoring four second period goals en route to a 5-3 win.
After a scoreless first period, the Brewins netted two goals in only 30 seconds. Shortly after, Bryan Chiang’s knuckler fooled the goalie and bounced in somehow. Arie Stock did his thing, scoring twice. Then Paul Luethy missed on a breakaway but scored on a second chance.
Don Marks scored on a slap shot from the point in the third, giving the Squirrels a 5-2 lead. The Brewins could only get one more and the Squirrels suddenly felt better about themselves.
