The Squirrels played a solid game Tuesday, out-possessing the Jesters and certainly out-shooting them (despite the absolutely wrong scorecard), but struggled to get the puck in the net in a 5-2 playoff loss to the Jesters, ending their season.
Only one goal was scored in the first period, but the Jesters extended their lead more by two with only 7:34 to play.
Then the Squirrels scored twice – goals by Tyler Ghent and Charles Warner – and the Jesters were on their heels. The Squirrels kept up the pressure before the Jesters broke free and scored their fourth goal. The Squirrels still pressured them but ran out of time, giving up a late empty-netter. The major difference was Jesters goalie Ed Owen.
