The Squirrels won their sixth in a row and took over first place on Thursday with a 6-4 win against Jailbreak. Mario Constantinou figured into all six Squirrels goals, including two of his own, and Mike Bartock, playing forward, had a hat trick to lead the Squirrels.
The game wasn’t a cakewalk, however, as the Squirrels had a 4-1 lead late in the second but Jailbreak would score three times in the next five minutes of play to tie the game.
Constantinou and Bartock would each score twice down the stretch, however, to give the Squirrels the lead again. Tony Richelsen also had a goal, a bouncer from the point on the first shift of the game, and two assists.
Dave Tran played in net for the Squirrels.
