The Squirrels faced a revamped Brewins team on Sunday, outplaying them for the majority of the game but having little to show for it until the third period, then running away with a 6-2 win.
Despite a heavy forecheck and lots of shots by the Squirrels, the Brewins took a 2-0 lead in the first period. Vivek Pinto got the Squirrels on the board in the second with a power play goal, but the Squirrels still had their work cut out for them as they trailed 2-1 going into the third.
Then the floodgates opened, as Bob Valdes and Mike Bartock each scored twice, and Pinto had another.
Brent Machado had three assists. Mario Constantinou, who got married Saturday and will go on his honeymoon Monday, had two assists.
