The Eagles and Squirrels played a tight game for two periods Thursday until the Squirrels exploded for five goals in the third period and a 6-2 win.
The Eagles scored a couple of goals in the first period off of Squirrels turnovers, while Mario Constantinou also tallied. The 2-1 Eagles lead held throughout the second, though the Squirrels got plenty of shots.
In the third period, Tony Richelsen and Mike Bartock each scored on rushes, then Brandon Barkoff scored twice — once on the power play — and Geoff Grek added another.
Craig Beatty made 15 saves in net. The Squirrels are now 4-0.
