Laughing Skulls 7, Squirrels 6 (SO)

The Squirrels lost a heartbreaker Saturday, as too many defensive-zone turnovers ultimately cost them in a 6-5 shootout loss to the Laughing Skulls.

Down 2-0 after the second period, Vivek Pinto scored twice to tie the game going into the third period. Early in the third, the Squirrels scored twice on goals by Scott Kronzek and Tim Stump. But there was still plenty of time left, and the Skulls fought back, scoring three times  to take the lead.

Scott Kronzek and Neil Shah then gave the Squirrels the lead again. The Skulls pulled their goalie. The Squirrels missed a change to ice the game, and the Skulls took advantage to tie the game with 30 seconds remaining.

In the shootout, Tim Stump scored, but the Squirrels gave up two and fell.
