The Squirrels dug themselves into an early hole and couldn’t get out of it, falling 5-3 to the Bullets despite valiant efforts down the stretch.
Down 3-0 after the first period, the Squirrels scored the next two goals and had momentum. Mike Bartock and Mario Constantinou each scored and the team had several other chances to tie the game. In the third period, the Squirrels kept up the pressure, but the Bullets scored to regain a two-goal lead. Constantinou scored his second of the game to put the Squirrels back in a position to tie the game, but the Bullets scored once more down the stretch.
