Despite the final score, the Squirrels actually had a very good second period Friday, but fell 9-5 to the ringer-led Bullets.
Down 6-0 after the first period, Geoff Grek’s slap shot finally got the Squirrels on the board. Shortly after, sub Pat Reilly scored the first of his two goals to cut the lead to 6-2. Though the Bullets scored another, Bob Valdes and Mario Constantinou each scored to make the game 7-4.
The Squirrels tried, but didn’t find the same second period magic, as they gave up two more goals before Reilly scored again.
The Bullets outshot the Squirrels, 41-30.
