The Squirrels got a couple of third period goals from Dave Chung on Monday, which gave them a 4-2 win against Maryland Public Safety.
Jason Wolf got the scoring started in the first period as Tony Richelsen’s pass deflected in off of Wolf’s legs. Late in the period, Mike Bartock’s end to-end rush while shorthanded put the Squirrels up 2-1. Both Maryland Public Safety goals came off of Squirrels errors by the net, the second of which tied the game early in the third period.
Both of Chung’s goals came from the same spot on the left side of the net. Left handed, Chung scored short-side and top shelf, both times in tight for the game winner and insurance goal.
The Squirrels killed a few penalties, got a few lucky breaks and gave Maryland Public Safety few opportunities late in the game to seal the victory.
