In the last game of the regular season, the Squirrels fell apart in the third period Tuesday, giving up three short-handed goals after taking a brief lead, and falling 7-3.
The Squirrels did however come back from a 2-0 deficit, as Pat Reilly and Mario Constantinou scored in the first two periods. Reilly scored his again on another breakaway early in the third period to give the Squirrels a 3-2 lead. Then the Squirrels yielded five in a row.
The loss keeps the Squirrels in fourth place in the league. They will play the Laughing Skulls onSunday in the first round of the playoffs.
