Playoffs: Squirrels 4, Laughing Skulls 2

The Squirrels won their first round matchup with the 5th-seeded Laughing Skulls on Sunday with a 4-2 victory.

A turnover led to a Skulls’ goal in the first period, but it wasn’t until the second when the Squirrels found the board. Vivek Pinto scored the first on a two-on-one with Mario Constantinou. A few minutes later, Constantinou put the Squirrels up 2-1 going into the third period.

Constantinou scored another early in the third. Billy King drew a penalty and Tim Stump scored on a power play breakaway to give the Squirrels a 4-1 lead. The Skulls pushed hard, scoring one more goal down the stretch, but couldn’t get any closer.

The Squirrels advance to the semi-finals against the second-seeded Thundercats on March 26 at 9:30.
