The Squirrels couldn’t overcome a relatively short bench Saturday, falling 3-1 to a Hockey Donkeys team they knew they could otherwise beat.
The Donkeys scored the first three of the game, and also put up 44 shots as Craig Beatty made 41 saves for the Squirrels. The lone goal came as Tero Moberg stole the puck from the left side and scored on a breakaway, short side.
