For the second time in the past few weeks, the last-place Squirrels beat the first-place Wiley Gunters, this time more decisively in a 6-3 win.
After getting their goalie situation settled, the Squirrels jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Tero Moberg and Mike Bartock. They extended their lead in the second period with goals from Scott Kronzek and David Chung.
The Wiley Gunters scored the next two, but then the Squirrels scored two more after that with goals from Brent Machado and Kronzek.
In the third period, the Wiley Gunters scored and then had an opportunity to trim the lead even further down the stretch with power plays, but the Squirrels killed them and retained the 6-3 win.
