The Squirrels and Meltdown played a tight game Friday, with Meltown coming out on top, 3-2.
Meltdown would score first, but Neil Shah tucked in a shot to tied the game midway through the first period. Meltdown put quite a bit of pressure on the Squirrels and it led to some turnovers, and a 2-1 lead.
Brent Machado tied the game in the second period after hitting in a rebound from Tero Moberg’s shot.
In the third period, a deep zone turnover cost the Squirrels a goal. The Squirrels couldn’t make up for it on any of their three power plays but kept coming close.
Merritt Lyon played in net for the Squirrels.
