Having lost to the Outsiders several times over the winter, the Squirrels felt great grabbing a 5-1 victory on Tuesday. Despite the score, which was one awkward swat away from a shutout, the game was competitive.
Geoff Grek’s hat trick led the way, as he scored the first, third and fifth goal for the Squirrels, while Mike Bartock and Brent Machado added two others.
The game got intense a few times with power plays and kills – including a brief 5-on-3 for the Squirrels, but no one scored.
The Squirrels are now 2-0 in the four-team division, with only the Laughing Skulls left to beat.
