Squirrels 5, Laughing Skulls 3

The Squirrels won their third in a row and sit atop the 4-team division with a 5-3 victory against the Laughing Skulls on Tuesday.

The Skulls phoned it in for the first period, and the Squirrels took advantage with goals by Scott Kronzek, Brent Machado and Brandon Barkoff on the power play.

The league’s leading scorer Mike Lembo scored early in the second period for the Skulls, but Mario Constantinou gave the Squirrels a 4-1 lead going into the third period.

Lembo scored again early in the second, and the Skulls cut the lead to 4-3 with plenty of time remaining, but the Squirrels hunkered down and scored once more on an empty net.
