Squirrels 3, Eagles 2

The Squirrels and Eagles played a tight game on Tuesday, but the Squirrels prevailed, 3-2, despite only having three subs.

The Eagles took the lead early in the first period. In the second, Mike Bartock scored twice for the Squirrels, one on an end-to-end rush, and another on a shot from the point.

In the third, Emily Emmons went end to end and shot the puck, before Ben Sumner back-handed in a rebound, top shelf, according to referee Tim Fitzgerald, who suggested to Sumner to put that in this recap. The Squirrels also caught a break when a shot ricocheted off of an Eagles player and past Dave Tran, but the goal was washed out when the refs determined he was in the crease.

The Eagles cut the lead to 3-2 late in the third but the Squirrels held on for the win.
