The Squirrels played a tight game against the first-place Thundercats on Tuesday, but couldn’t squeeze in the tying goal in a 3-2 loss.
The Thundercats got an early goal to go up 1-0, before Mario Constantinou hit in a rebound to tie the score. In the second period, the Thundercats scored twice more, including on a bouncing shot that turned out to be costly. Brandon Barkoff scored late in the second period, and the Squirrels put up plenty of pressure in the third period but couldn’t find the net.
