The Squirrels put up a fight, but couldn’t get the tying goal down the stretch in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Bullets.
The Bullets scored early before the Squirrels took two penalties that put them down 5-on-3. A Bullets player lost an edge and Vivek Pinto skated around him and got a breakaway goal. While the Squirrels killed the first penalty, they gave up a goal on the second one. In the second period, Don Marks scored to tie the game, but the Bullets then scored twice to go up 4-2. Rylan Gottran scored early in the third period to cut the lead to one. Despite several good chances, the Squirrels couldn’t tie the game.
