In their first game against each other since the winter championship game, the Squirrels got the better of the Whalers, 5-2.

The Whalers took a 1-0 lead in the first period as the Squirrels had a difficult time getting much going offensively. But in the second period, Dave Chung and Mike Bartock connected for the Squirrels’ first goal of the game, while Tim Stump scored the second shortly after. The floodgates opened in the third period with Mario Constantinou scoring, followed by two goals from Geoff Grek. The Whalers scored a late goal.

The Squirrels had a full lineup for most of the game, with three full forward lines and two lines of defense.
