The Squirrels lost their second game in a row Sunday, also 7-6, falling to 4-2 on the season. Down 3-1 in the second, the Squirrels rallied, tying the game 4-4 early in the third. But the Squirrels gave up three unanswered goals, while only scoring twice more down the stretch, including one with 9 seconds remaining.

The Squirrels went 3-for-5 on the power play.

The Squirrels lost their first game of the season Sunday, 7-6, to the Brewins.

Up 3-0, the Squirrels quickly surrendered three goals to end the first period, but got two more in the second for a 5-3 lead. The Brewins, however, scored four straight.

With a late 4-minute power play, the Squirrels scored once, but couldn’t get any closer.

The Squirrels won their third game in a row and remained undefeated on Sunday, topping Wolfe Pack 4-2, including three goals on the power play.

After an uneventful first period, Wolfe Pack struck quickly in the second period. It took the Squirrels more than half the game to find the net, as Jon Danziger tallied on the power play. Wolfe Pack regained the lead, but the Squirrels scored twice more in the second period, and Paul Kobernick scored on a 5-on-3 in the third to give the Squirrels a two-goal cushion down the stretch.

The Squirrels won their second game to start the season Sunday, besting the Brewers 5-3. After a scoreless first period, the Squirrels found themselves down 1-0 after giving up the first of three power play goals. Then Don Marks scored on a slap shot on a power play, and Mark Tessar put the Squirrels up 2-1 heading into the third period. Neil Shah scored on a breakaway shortly into the third period to put the Squirrels back up 3-1. The Brewers cut the lead to 3-2 before Brent Machado scored twice to put the Squirrels back up 5-2. The Brewers scored once more but it wasn’t enough.

The Squirrels survived their first game of the season Wednesday with a 4-3 victory in the shootout against Stealthy Choice. In his first game as a Squirrel, Neil Shah scored and added the decisive shootout goal. Mark Tessar scored the other two goals, plus a shootout goal.
