The Squirrels fell in the regular season finale Sunday, losing 4-3 to the Highlanders. With one point in their final three games, Home Visions can knock the Squirrels into 6th place in the playoff seeding.

The Squirrels came out sluggish Tuesday, doing very little until the third period, but it wasn’t nearly enough as they fell, 5-2 to the Laughing Skulls. Brent Machado and Amy Reich scored for the Squirrels.

The Squirrels had virtually no trouble dismantling Panic on Thursday, improving to 6-6 with a 7-0 win.

The Squirrels kept taking big leads, up 4-1 and later 6-3, but Home Visions made it interesting down the stretch with two late goals, but couldn’t pull it out as the Squirrels skated away with a 6-5 win. Charles Warner had three goals, Ray Titus had two – included a short-handed goal – and Ben Sumner had one. The Squirrels used the Mastodons’ goalie, Jimmy Davis, in net.

Early in the day, the Squirrels were hoping to have the five minimum number of skaters just to keep the game from being a forfeit, but a few sick or injured players showed up at the last minute to give the Squirrels some necessary resting time. It worked, and the Squirrels avenged an early-season 9-2 loss with a 4-3 victory against the Mastodons on Wednesday.

In her first game as a Squirrel, Amy Reich assisted on three of the Squirrels goals. Charles Warner, nursing a hurt hand after being hit with a slapshot in Tuesday’s roller victory, found his groove with two goals. Rob Meyers and Ray Titus also scored for the Squirrels, with Titus’s goal coming after he dinged the post several times earlier in the game. Herman Johal played in net for the Squirrels.
