The Squirrels had golden opportunities to defeat last season’s nemesis Tuesday, leading 3-2 after the half but giving up three straight, including an empty-netter, to fall 5-3.

Down 4-2 in the final minute, the Squirrels scored twice in 43 seconds, including one at the buzzer to force a shootout. But that’s where things ended poorly for the Squirrels, who fell to the Jesters, 5-4. Greg Hainer had two goals and an assist for the Squirrels.
