Ice: Brewins 6, Squirrels 5
The Squirrels lost a game they knew they could win Friday, clawing back in the third period before tired legs got the better of them in a 6-5 loss to the Brewins. Squirrels 10, Brewins 2
The Screaming Squirrels kicked off the season in dominating fashion, though they had the luxury of beating a team who only had five skaters for the majority of the game before two other showed up. In the end, the Squirrels started the season with a 10-2 win, but the real story is how good this team can be.
Three new players suited up for the Squirrels – Marc Irby and Ari Stock – both of whom came from the roller team and combined for 10 points, and defenseman Joe Ponzetti, who proved to be solid on the blue line.
