The Screaming Squirrels won their ninth in a row Saturday, topping the Cruisers 3-1 in a game that seemed like it should have been much more decisive than the scoreboard showed. Paul Kobernick got the scoring started for the Squirrels in the first period, and even launched another shot which nearly went in. Jon Danziger put the Squirrels up 2-0 on the power play in the second period. The Cruisers capitalized off of a delayed off-sides by the Squirrels, which led to a breakout/breakaway. Rob Myers added an insurance goal in the third period.
The Squirrels outshot the Cruisers, 41-27.
